During the second day of Musical Con 2025 I achieved some of what I set out to do but not all of it.  This was because I spent most of my time at the Main Stage watching what was going on and taking quite a lot of photos of the performances.

The day started with a talk about The Lion King with some of the performers and crew talking with Henry Calvert and sharing some inside information about the West End production. Did you know that they use 232 puppets in each show?  Hard to imagine how they are all stored backstage!

The second slot was a cast reunion from the TV show I Have a Dream with some performances by the finalists as well. They all had wonderful voices.

We then had a segment with Paul Taylor Mills who in turn introduced Jordan Luke Gage and his forthcoming show Redcliffe which looks like it’s going to be a must see.  Redcliffe is going to be playing a Southwark Playhouse Borough next summer and tickets are already on sale here.

Next was a show preview of Jo The Musical followed by an artist spotlight featuring Eva Noblezada and Reeve Carney, and then a Cosplay competition.

This line-up went on until around 2pm and all of it was really engaging. I’d arranged to meet an Instagram friend for a quick lunch after the Cosplay competition finished.  She was keen to see the lip sync battle so I joined her in watching that and enjoyed it more than I expected to. The standard of the entrants was impressive.

I completely failed to see any panels at the backstage theatre on the second day and I didn’t do that brilliantly at looking at the stalls either – I went directly to the one I knew I wanted to buy something from, bought a notepad, and headed back over to the Main Stage.

I felt myself wondering if the stalls could have been spread out a little more as there was a high footfall past them most of the time. This is one of the reasons I didn’t explore that area much. However, I must admit I’m not a huge fan of shopping at the best of times.

I felt like my time at Musical Con flew by as there was always something to be looking at.  The atmosphere was also really friendly and inclusive.  I’ve added a few shows to my ‘want to watch’ list after seeing their previews and spotlight features.

All in all, it was a fun and entertaining event for anyone who loves musical theatre. I will definitely be going again.

I have added some of my photos to my Instagram  so please do have a look over there if you would like to see those as well.

Please credit if you share my photos.
